KERN Hilda Flores Kern, life time El Pasoan, was born September 15, 1932 and passed away peacefully in her sleep early in the morning of September 22, 2012. She was married to her husband of 58 years, Billy B. Kern, M.D., in June of 1954, when they were both finishing their studies at Texas Western College. They produced four beautiful children: Stephen (Antoinette), Katherine Louise, William F. (Ann) and Margaret. She was "Lita" to nine talented grandchildren; Sevananda, Varuni, Rupa, Zachary, Cecilie, Will Cooper, Sean, Margaux and Daniel. She is survived by her sister Margarita (Tuti), multiple nieces, nephews and many cousins too numerous to mention. Hilda was artistic and an interior decorator/designer. She, along with a team of interior designers, contributed to the design and coloring of several religious buildings including the Cathedral as well as the Bishop's offices at the Pastoral Center. She will be greatly missed by all those who love her. She was a member of Las Comadres and daughter of one of the founding members of that organization. Special thanks is extended to The Hospice of El Paso organization to include The Center for Compassionate Care West as well as Max Peralta, M.D., Jackie Olivas, RN, Byron Chesbro, M.D and Zaareth Salvador, LBSW as well as Funeral ministers Wally and Jane Thompson. Special vocal contributions will be from her very good friend, Bianca Ornelas, religious music minister, as well as being the prettiest CPA in the county, if not the whole state. Even now she and Fr. Rick are somewhere discussing all this. Rosary will be held at Harding-Orr & McDaniel's on Montana, Thursday evening at 7:00 PM,. Funeral Services will be at St Patrick Cathedral on Friday at 10:00 AM conducted by Fr. Blake Fry. Burial will be at Ft. Bliss Military Cemetery at 1:00 PM. Funeral Services entrusted to Harding-Orr & McDaniel Funeral Home 320 Montana Avenue. FunerariaDelAngelHarding.com
