Text Box: INVITATION: Our members initiate individual invitation during the year but there is scant evidence that this has borne fruit. Please continue extending invitations; as we never know when a calling will produce results. Our Club participates in the Text Box: Call by Name Program and we work closely with the Vocation Office recruiting programs. It is difficult to identify specific examples of success but the Diocesan Programs in totality are working. Two men were ordained as Priest in June and at least two more will be Text Box: ordained in 2011. We have sixteen Seminarians studying in our Diocesan Seminary programs. Our Diocesan recruiting efforts remain active and the Serra Club supports these programs. Text Box: blessings bestowed on me through your friendships and testimonials of faith validated by your participation, hard work and dedication. I pray that each of us with our Club Text Box: AND AFFIRM: Do our meetings foster and affirm us as Serra members in our Catholic faith? Meeting and working with each of you does affirm my faith and I am grateful for the Text Box: Leaders work to improve these programs in the years ahead. To affirm is to support or uphold. We perform these functions well hosting our Bishop’s Dinner, Text Box: “To foster and affirm vocations to the ordained priesthood and vowed religious life in the Diocese of El Paso and through this ministry to foster and affirm our member’s Catholic faith.”
