Seminarian Vocations Update:

St. Mark— Had the Call by name program and took the opportunity to introduce to their community our new Seminarian Peter Venegas.

Other Parish are celebrating the Call by Name in their church another way to Invite + Encourage + Affirm + Pray for vocations. We welcome our new Seminarian Peter Venegas.

Seminarian Cong Vo and Seminarian Victorino Loresca will received the Ministry of Lector on, Saturday 2, 2013 at Assumption Seminary.

Steps during the Theology:

> Ministry of Lectro ~ Spring of the 1st year

> Ministry of Acolyte ~ Fall of the 2nd year

> Candidacy (promise)  ~ before the 3rd year

> Diaconate Ordination ~ after the 3rd  year

> Priest Ordination ~ end of 4th year

Fr. Rick Sotelo a Jesuit Priest is an Attorney. He graduated from Washington & Lee University and then from Wofford College in South Carolina. He practiced law for several years prior to his discernment regarding the priesthood. His first choice was the Benedictines but later he became a Jesuit and was ordained in 1987. He served as a Pastor in North Carolina and then as a Master of Novices in Jamaica. He arrived in El Paso in 1999. Fr. Sotelo serves as the Chaplain for the Department of Homeland Security at a facility located here in El Paso.
